see, it’s purely situational. if my life was actually in danger then perhaps it would be useful. what’s sick is people claiming stand your ground in times where it should NOT be used, which seems to be the only time the media even bothers to cover it nowadays. my life has never been threatened to that degree but i can say that i would probably do whatever felt right in the heat of the moment with adrenaline running. i don’t think trayvon martin or that guy in the movie theater deserved to die and the fact that both of the gun men claimed this is bullshit. obviously, we’re never going to know what happened to trayvon because he’s dead and he’s the only person who knows the other half of the story, but zimmerman’s story didn’t convince me one damn bit. as for the other guy, did his cell phone use really threaten someone THAT much? the fact that these stories are getting the attention that they are probably make other people think it’s okay to commit hellish acts like that and say they were “standing their ground” over something nonexistent. give me a legitimate threat, but for now i think this law needs to be done away with.
i accidentally posted this on my personal because i do that a lot and i’m too lazy to copy/paste
there’s a difference between Self Defense and Stand Your Ground.
Stand Your Ground is just stupid imo
